October 18, 2017 – Skiing on Soveriegn trails!

Yes snow has started to accumulate on the upper trails and last weekend saw skiers skiing aprox. 5 kms on classic tracks with a course on repeater trial area system and over towards Paradise Camp trails.

Sovereign Lake Noridc club(SLNC) provided the recent trail setting and could use a $5.00 donation if you ski the tracks to help with fuel costs.  There was talk of setting up a pay box but not sure if that is in place so feel free to drop off $5.00 per skier later in the season at the club or check at Stussi Sports on your way down from skiing.  SLNC members who have paid this season memberships are not required to pay the $5.00 fee.  This is an honour system so please follow up if you ski the trails early.

More snow has started to accumulate on trails as of October 18th and cooler weather and more snow on the way should help to retain the snow.  May be best to call the Sovereign Lake Nordic Center or check their website for any updates.

Remember this is still early season so bring rock skis and variety of waxes or waxless skis.  Great to have this opportunity thanks to SLNC volunteers!
